Adventure to Avignon – FRANCE

26 April 2010

Avignon is a small city in Southern France, a little less than three hours on the train from the Charles de Gaul airport. It is about a two hour drive north of Marseille. It is a very popular city visited by many tourists some of whom come to visit the Papal Palace. The city is for the most part a Roman Catholic stronghold.

Maisson de L’Eternel or The House of the Lord is a post-charismatic church that was raised up by Eric Gabillas and his wife Jocelyne. Eric has an apostolic calling upon his life. He is assisted by Atav Roets and Rene and Henriette Madou who serve the flock as pastors. We have ministered among them off and on over a period of four years.  Three years ago they went through a challenging period which resulted in their leaving the fellowship of which they were a part and in some of the flock leaving and starting another group.

Pastor Eric is a man of the word and is open to much of what we teach, because he also has received revelation from the Lord. It has made it much easier to minister since we in many cases bring confirmation to things he has taught, but which were questioned by some of the people. Many of the people also love the word. The Lord has been gracious to us and a relationship is developing between him and us and he is becoming a part of our family. Continue to remember them in prayer.

On Thursday April 15 I arrived in Avignon accompanied by Matti Solvik. Matti is another that the Lord is adding to the family from Kokkola, Finland. David Clemetson was supposed to arrive also on Thursday but airports in England were shut due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland. He was not able to come due to this continuing situation.
The Lord was with us as we ministered in four meetings around the theme of  “The House of the Lord”. We sought to establish that the shaking that is presently going on in the world is because of the need for the building of the house of the Lord. This is the message of Haggai, Zechariah and other prophets. The Lord was with us to add great grace to the word. Pastor Eric asked us to stay for a while longer to continue ministering the word. Maybe three months, he said. Nevertheless because of our other commitments we had to leave on Monday.
During this time, due to the volcanic eruptions, many of the airports in northern Europe were closed. My airline called to say that my flights were cancelled and that they could confirm me on a flight on Saturday. After many calls they schedule me to leave on a flight on Tuesday.
Matti also had his flight cancelled which was due to leave on Sunday night. We both had travelled up to Paris on Sunday night for our flights. When I arrived in Paris I was informed that my flight on Tuesday was cancelled. After repeated calls I was told that if I could get to London they could get me on a flight on Tuesday. Matti’s airline chartered a bus to pick up their customers in Paris for a two day bus trip home to Finland. He left on Tuesday morning.  I made the train trip to London only to have my flight cancelled again as the airport was still closed. Matti arrived home in Finland on Thursday.
After persisting and with much prayer from many brethren, the London airport opened Tuesday night and I was scheduled on a flight on Wednesday to return home to Miami via Chicago. At the Chicago airport I met Apostle Eduardo who was on his way to Buenos Aires, Argentina for a weekend of ministry. I was also supposed to be on a Wednesday flight there. I will have to catch up with him a day later.
